TASTING PROFILE
A classic, but with that unmistakable Colombian charm. In this lot, 65% dark chocolate supports a beautiful blend of nuts and candied berries, creating a rich and comforting profile reminiscent of childhood desserts. This coffee shines in milk-based drinks, evoking warm berry turnovers fresh from the oven. Its balance of flavor and texture makes it a perfect candidate for what Nektar calls a classic coffee.
ORIGIN
This year, the Manos de Mujeres group returns with a new lot of Castillo and Colombia varieties, grown and harvested in La Unión, Nariño, Colombia. This collective of women farmers is part of FUDAM, an association that promotes certified organic farming and sustainability. Their coffees are typically fermented for 16 to 24 hours and washed two to three times, depending on the harvest conditions.
BREWING
This coffee performs beautifully as espresso, first for its round body, then for its natural sweetness that turns it into a liquid dessert. In milk-based drinks, it delivers a soft and indulgent cup, reminiscent of pecan pie or berry-filled pastries. A fast, modern extraction will highlight its fruity notes, while a slower, classic 1:2 ratio will bring out the depth of the dark chocolate. When brewed as a filter coffee, it's the kind of cup that brings people together. Comforting, familiar, and perfect for a slow morning.
